Dual Scale Filling System

This system controls the filling of two containers, placed on two separate scale bases. A two-speed pump and two fill valves are automatically controlled by the WI-130.

Before beginning the filling operation, target weights and container tare weights must be setup in the system.

This is done by pressing the SETUP key. Values to be entered include a fast-fill amount, final target amount, and tare weight for each container. These values are retained in memory until changed by the operator.

To begin filling, a container is placed on each scale, and the START key is pressed. The system checks the weight on scale 1 for the existence of a container. If a container is not on the scale, filling will not begin.

If a container is on the scale, the system will tare the scale, activate an output setpoint to open the first fill valve. The screen of the WI-130 changes to net mode, and shows a bargraph, indicating the progress of the filling operation.

When the weight in the container reaches the fast-fill target amount, the fast-fill pump will turn off and the slow-fill pump will turn on. Upon reaching the final target amount, the slow-fill pump will turn off, and the fill valve will close.

After pausing for a few seconds, the system will check for the existence of a container on the second scale. If a container is not on the scale, filling will not begin.

If a container is on the scale, the system will fill the second container using the same method as the first container. The system will alternate between the two scales until the STOP key is pressed. u
